Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 June 2026 | Effective date: 4 June 2026
This policy explains how Aryan Mobile Mechanics ("we", "us", "our") collects and processes your personal data when you use our website at aryanmobilemechanic.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
1. Who We Are (Data Controller)
The data controller responsible for this website is:
- Business name: Aryan Mobile Mechanics
- Operating area: Greater London, Birmingham, Manchester, United Kingdom
- Contact email: aryanmobilemechanic@gmail.com
- Phone: 07444 184 632
2. What Data We Collect
2.1 Booking Form Data
When you submit a booking request, we collect:
- Full name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Service address (dispatch location)
- Vehicle registration number
- Selected services and appointment preferences
- Optional notes for the mechanic
2.2 Vehicle Data (DVLA Lookup)
When you enter a UK vehicle registration number, our website queries the official DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service API. The data returned (make, model, fuel type, engine capacity, MOT and tax status) is used solely to provide you with an accurate quote and is not stored by us beyond your browsing session.
2.3 Postcode Data
When you use our coverage checker, your postcode is sent to the third-party Postcodes.io API to verify the geographic location. No personally identifiable information is transmitted — only the postcode itself.
2.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies as described in Section 7 below.
2.5 Technical Data
Our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically collects standard technical data such as IP addresses, browser type, and page access logs. This data is used only for security and operational purposes.
3. How We Use Your Data
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- Contract performance: To process your booking request, confirm your appointment, and dispatch a mechanic to your location.
- Communication: To send you a booking confirmation email and to contact you about your appointment.
- Service improvement: To understand how our website is used so we can improve it (aggregated, anonymised data only).
- Legal compliance: To comply with applicable laws and regulations.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
- Contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR): Processing your booking details is necessary to perform the service you have requested.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR): For website security, fraud prevention, and improving our service.
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR): For any optional cookies or analytics where we have asked for your consent.
5. How We Share Your Data
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only with:
5.1 Web3Forms
Booking form submissions are processed via Web3Forms (web3forms.com), a form submission service. Your booking data — including name, phone, email, address, and vehicle details — is transmitted to Web3Forms to deliver the booking email to us and to you. Please review Web3Forms' Privacy Policy for their data handling practices.
5.2 DVLA (UK Government)
Vehicle registration lookups are processed via the official DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service. Your vehicle registration number is transmitted to retrieve publicly available vehicle data. See DVLA's API Privacy Notice.
5.3 Netlify
This website is hosted on Netlify. Netlify processes technical data (IP addresses, access logs) as part of hosting. See Netlify's Privacy Policy.
5.4 Postcodes.io
The postcode coverage checker uses the Postcodes.io API. Only your postcode is sent — no other personal data.
6. Data Retention
Booking confirmation emails are retained in our email inbox for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the service and for financial record-keeping (up to 7 years as required by UK tax law). We do not maintain a separate database of booking submissions.
7. Cookies
We use the following cookies on this website:
7.1 Essential Cookies
- cookieConsent — Remembers your cookie preference. Expires after 365 days. First-party.
These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off.
7.2 Functional / Non-Essential Cookies
- dvlaRateLimit — Limits the number of DVLA vehicle lookups from your browser to prevent abuse. Expires after 1 hour. First-party.
You can manage your cookie preferences using the banner that appears when you first visit the site, or by clearing your browser cookies. Declining non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to book a service.
We do not currently use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
8. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — Request that we correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — Request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction — Request that we limit how we use your data.
- Objection — Object to our processing of your data based on legitimate interests.
- Data portability — Request that we provide your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at aryanmobilemechanic@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Transfers Outside the UK
All third-party service providers we use (Web3Forms, Netlify, Postcodes.io) operate infrastructure that may be located outside the UK. Where transfers occur, they are subject to appropriate safeguards in line with UK GDPR Chapter V requirements.
10. Children
Our services are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data through our website, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
