Pre-Purchase Inspection · London
Pre-Purchase Car Inspection — £120 Fixed, Before You Buy
Buying a used car? Don't rely on a photo listing and a test drive alone. We inspect the vehicle at the seller's location — 50-point check, full diagnostics, and an honest report before you hand over any money. A £45 call-out fee applies on top of the £120 inspection price.
What We Check
A private-sale listing photo can't show you a worn clutch, a hidden accident repair, or a fault code cleared just before viewing. Our inspection covers the engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes, tyres, and bodywork for signs of accident damage, plus a full OBD-II diagnostic scan across every ECU.
We then take the car for a short test drive to check how it actually performs, and give you a clear, honest written summary — including anything that should affect your offer price or walk you away from the deal entirely.
What the Inspection Covers
We inspect at the seller's location, not ours, so you're seeing the car exactly as it's being sold. That starts with an OBD-II scan for stored and pending fault codes across engine, transmission, ABS, and airbag systems — codes a seller may not know are sitting in the ECU, or may have cleared before your visit.
We then check panel gaps and paint depth for signs of prior accident repair, look underneath for corrosion, oil leaks, and worn suspension bushes, test brakes, tyres, and steering for play or uneven wear, and take the car for a short road test to feel for gearbox hesitation, clutch slip, or unusual vibration that a stationary check won't catch.
You get a plain-English written report with photos on the spot — not a pass/fail tick sheet — so you can walk away, negotiate on price, or buy with confidence, all before you've handed over any money.
